    You ahve to add the air yourself, if you odn’t do the exact perfect amount, it won’t work. I added to much, than to little and it comes with a needle to add and remove air. It didn’t matter what I did, it would not let the sand fall correctly. It just fell and had no design. I returned the item

    The colors are even more beautiful than the photos, and the generative art process is fascinating to watch. The amount of air it originally came with seemed great in the one I received. Shaking it horizontally first to break up the bubbles to a good size (not too big or too small) worked well to get mountains and valleys. Thankfully, I haven’t needed to try the syringe… I’m hesitant to use it in case it might develop a leak.
    [Edit] After more testing while avoiding the syringe, it seems tapping the frame to get the sand particles to pack tightly also helps. When the sand is loose, it falls rapidly and is difficult to get the bubbles to line up quickly enough to hold the sand in place.

    It is an interesting addition to the living room but is 100% plastic. That said, would buy again.
